Mark chapters 7-10: ”Who do you say that I am?”

If I were giving these chapters a theme this week, I think it would be confusion. There is so much confusion about who Jesus is in these chapters, and we get to the turning point of Mark's gospel when Jesus comes right out and asks his disciples "Who do you say that I am?" It's a question that we all have to answer, and it's the most important question we will ever have to answer.

This week, we see another confrontation with the scribes and  Pharisees, we meet a very persistant Syro-phoenician woman, Jesus goes back to the Decapolis (I told you he wasn't finished there!!), we see the heavenly veil pulled back to give us a peek of Jesus' glory on the Mount of Transfiguration, and we meet a man called Blind Bartimaeus. And sprinkled in between all of these stories, Jesus finally reveals why he has come, giving us more and more detail each time he tells his disciples. Welcome to SUPER CHALLENGE WEEK!!
