You will say hello to Isaac, and goodbye to Hagar and Ishmael.
You will see the LORD demand sacrifice, and you will see him make provision.
You will say goodbye to Sarah, and hello to Rebekah.
You will see FAITH being displayed in each chapter.

The title pretty much says it all, folks. We take another look at the Abrahamic Covenant this week in chapter 17, where it really gets "fleshed out." (see what I did there?) Sarah has her own interaction with the LORD, where he makes her a promise that she just can't believe...she's tickled blue. We talk a lot about Lot in chapter 19. He's now a leader in Sodom, but he has trouble leading his family. We see the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and we remember Lot's wife. We learn how the enemies of Israel, the Moabites and the Ammonites came about. It has to do with Lot. And Abraham plays the sister card again. Does this mean that Sarah is the original sister-wife? I'm really punny here, aren't I? This episode is jam packed. You may want to listen twice. You know, you might want to......

We've got a busy week this week as we move from promises to signs, promises to intercession, sin to judgement, sin to tragic choices, and tragic choices turned to blessings. It's all here in Genesis chapters 17-20. The action moves pretty quickly, so no time to be bored!!

Welcome back to the book of Genesis. We pick up where we left off last October, in the land of Haran where Abram is living after his father passes. He gets a personal call from the LORD to leave his land, his people and everything he knows to follow a God that makes a lot of promises. Can this God deliver? Will Abram's faith hold out, or will he waiver? Journey with us from Haran to Canaan to Egypt and back to Canaan to find out.

What spiritual plane do we live on every day? Do we live in a place where the wrestle with insecurity, fear and guilt pummel us until we're bruised, or the gnaw of anxiety feels normal? How do we get to the plane where Union with Christ becomes our reality? How do we go from just an intellectual knowledge OF union with Christ to LIVING INTO union with Christ and it becomes a conviction of our soul? That's what we talk about in this final episode of our mini-series this week, recorded live at our Women's Retreat at beautiful Lake Sallateeska in Southern Illinois. I hope you enjoy this episode, and I hope you have been blessed with this series.

Welcome back to our Women's Retreat in beautiful Lake Sallateeska where we are discussing Union with Christ. In this episode, which is a live recording of session one from our retreat, we are talking about "what do we have RIGHT NOW in our Union with Christ?" Not what does the future hold? Or what will it look like when we get to glory...but right now...today. In our broken world and our imperfect lives filled with stress, anxiety, sickness, loss, and disappointments, what does the glorious doctrine of Union with Christ afford us in the right now? What benefits are ours to take hold of immediately? I hope this blesses you!

Welcome to our annual Women's Retreat at beautiful Lake Sallateeska in Southern Illinois....sort of. The next three episodes of She Walks Worthy were recorded live at a Women's Retreat our church hosts each fall. Our theme this year was Union With Christ. Let me be the first to acknowledge that Union With Christ is a massive doctrine, and three 40 minute sessions at a weekend retreat is really just a little "amuse bouche" to whet your appetite.

"My sin, oh the joy of this glorious thought, my sin not in part but the whole, was nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh my soul."
I think this third verse of the old hymn "It is Well" is probably my favorite verse of all hymns written.
We come to the end of the gospel of Mark this week, and we see the result of our sin. Our sinless savior taking our place on the old rugged cross.
Along the way, we see the only two responses you can have to Christ....you are either his follower, or you are his enemy. And we see the value two people place on Christ Jesus. How much do you value Christ?
And we will see that even when we stumble and even fall, he doesn't cast his children aside, but he meets us. We are his.
Oh sisters, relish the story one more time before our attention gets taken with the coming Advent season. This the reason he came.

As promised, here is a bonus episode all about the Dignified Donkey. This lowly beast of burden gets a boost in the gospel accounts when the King of kings rides on his back. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
