Hey!!! We're starting the gospel of Mark this week. It's a great time to join us! In this short prepisode, we orient ourselves to the gospel of Mark and learn some helpful background information, like who wrote the gospel of Mark, who was the original audience, and what is Mark's overall message in his gospel?
Then we talk about some of the features we can expect to see as we read this gospel, and end with some things to be looking for as you read the first chapter. Then we'll meet up next week to talk it all out. I can't wait!!

We are looking at Genesis 10-11 this week as we close out the first part of the Genesis story. Genesis 10 is commonly called the Table of Nations. We meet a lot of Israel's future enemies at this table. By taking the time to look at this section of the Bible, it will help us understand some of the relationships Israel has with these nations throughout the Old Testament.
We also finally (FINALLY!!) meet the man who will become Father Abraham. Could he also be the Seed of the Woman?
I tried really hard to make this list of genealogies not boring. Don't worry, we don't read all those names!!

As the Table of Nations is set before us, can you see the curse of Canaan taking shape? Are some of his descendants names familiar to you?
How about the line of Shem? Do you see how it is taking shape and how Noah's blessing is being fulfilled?
Do you see how the LORD's mandate of "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth" is being realized as the population of the earth expands again, but our focus is becoming more narrow?
Spend some time at the Table of Nations this week and watch how the LORD will providentially see his plan fulfilled, even as humanity tries to do their own thing.

First things first, my audio cuts off the last couple of seconds, so you didn't hear me say "I love you and I'm praying for you, and I hope you have a great week"....But I promise I said it!!
Noah and his family and all the animals make their way off the ark into a fresh "new" earth. How will they move forward? Spoiler alert, the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent are both present...can you pick them out?
We talk about waiting on God, costly sacrifice, and our sins being covered. I hope this blesses you and the Lord keeps you until next time.

This week in chapters 8-9, we wrap up the story of the flood, and we spend some time with Noah and find out what his life was like post flood. Goodness, can you imagine stepping off that ark and being one of eight people on the entire earth? How would you react?
This week as you're reading, see how many attributes of God you can pick out. (If you need a little bit of help with the attributes of God, click the link below.)
Let's have some fun with math....isn't everyone's favorite word problems?
What similarities or parallels do you see in chapters 8 & 9 with chapters 1 & 2?

We aren't hunting rabbits this week. We ARE hunting the 3 main points Moses is making in these chapters: 1) The wickedness of man is real, and evil exists 2) The judgement of God is also a very real thing 3) God promises salvation to those who place their faith in him.

We are getting ready for the arc of the storyline of the Ark. (See what I did there?) We are looking for the two lines of humanity, we are looking to see what God sees as he looks on creation, and we are looking at how this passage points us toward the gospel. Because that's what its all about, anyway.

We find ourselves outside of Eden in chapter 4, and boy do we ever recognize that paradise is lost at this point. Civilization may be on the rise, but humanity, in the line of Cain is in a downward spiral. We do get a faint glimpse of light at the end of chapter 4, and in chapter 5, we are introduced to a man called Noah. Will he be the seed of the woman we have been looking for?
